Based on rumour and heresay only - yes - some things need to be modified to work correctly under X.org. Not much but if it matters to you you'll probably not like X.org yet.I may (shortly) give it a shot then. If XFree/XOrg aren't *that* different
yet (I'm quite happy with a little tweaking of config files, so long as they're documented) they I may give it a go. I'm taking a 2h "class" for some degree students (I'm not sure which course they're on) next week - an "overview" of basic Linux concepts and some server stuff - so it might be an idea to have tried this "new" X that many distros are using.
Ooh... I know what I forgot to ask: NVidia's non-free drivers. Are they
likely to work, d'ya think? Successfully running Mandrake Cooker with XOrg and Nvidias drivers, XOrg was forked from the last version before the licence change so XFree style drivers and the same config files are supported. XOrg just *appeared* one day instead of XFree during a urpmi update.
