Don't u build firewalls your self, ?

Only for weird applications or my own use.

Most businesses want a firewall appliance, even if they don't
know it yet, they certainly don't want an ad-hoc one-off device
with all the corresponding maintenance costs. There are
exceptions - but probably not as many as people might think.

Besides implementing firewalls of the right quality is a
difficult job and I don't know many people or companies have the
full skill set.

Don't get me wrong there are some pretty good GNU/Linux
distributions aimed at firewalling, and routing devices, but
most of them are a long way from being widely applicable in
business, at least not without a vendor supplies all maintenance
type contract. Suddenly then it becomes uncompetitive unless it
is very low maintenance.

How about palm, it may not run Linux but there has been a palm program in
Linux for ages, so there must have been co-operation for this to work, as
they can be used to gether it seems fair they should be able to market their
product.

Totally off topic, doesn't fit the embedded free software model
at all.

Are Palms better value through their use of embedded free
software? Did they contribute
changes back to mainstream free software projects.

Bill's offer to demonstrate Mobius, doesn't fit the topic
either, perhaps then the topic is too specialised. Although I
dare say we could make exceptions for sponsors, or at least give
them plenty of room to set up a demonstration, rather than a
talk...
