The problem I had with the floppy was again prventing suspend rather than affecting the 
resume - I recompiled the kernel with the floppy driver as a module, then made sure the 
module was unloaded when I hit suspend.

You can check the version by typing 'uname -a'. The version is directly after the 
hostname, and should probably be 2.2.17 or so. 

Is it an early 560 model? Some of the earlier ones had bugs in the BIOS - you can get an 
upgrade, but it's a bit airy installing it, if it goes wrong, you might have to replace 
the system board (eeek). To check the version, hold F1 as the system boots and look at 
the BIOS date. Mine's sometime in 1997...

The only other thing I can think of at the moment is that the X-server is crashing; have 
you tried suspending from a text console? If that works, then X is not recovering from 
the suspend.
