Good.

I think the sponsors are suppose to supply distro's - but I don't think
bringing your favourite distro is a bad idea. I've done too many
software sales pitches not to carry around a spare CD or two of whatever
is the product on offer.

My experience of XF86 suggests it is probably handy to have a distro
with something older than 4 on, although I think Redhat 7 now bundled
the old X drivers from 3.3.6 - just in case you have a card that isn't
support, like me 8-(

Probably worth a preparatory sessions if we are using Vendor's latest
distro - so everyone helping on installs has seen the main installs at
the latest version, and the latest partition tools (That seems to be a
moving targer).

I think it is getting the punters in that will be the hard part - I've
drawn up my list of contacts, and we can use the various uk.local*advert
and uk.comp.os.linux groups.

Or are there arrayed masses of people who have had enough of Microsoft -
desparate to try Linux?!

Also - anyone got any good Open Source Application CD's?

I have StarOffice (only 5.1). And I'm sure the home users will want some
games, whilst the business users might be more interested in things like
the Oracle Developer bundle, database and web tools. If only to give
people a feel for what is out there.

We can alway pick up the latest versions from vendors or Linux Emporium
closer to the date for as long as we have a list of things we definitely
will have.
