I do not have your situation, but I do have similar T'Bird use on 3
machines, all laptops. All use same version of T'bird.

It depends on whether you use IMAP email addresses or POP3 email
addresses in T'Bird.
In one case I maintain a POP3 email address and it corresponding IMAP
address for legal reasons. (So I have a complete copy of past emails
independent on internet connectivity for IMAP address as ISP 'lost' two
years of emails from IMAP servers, problems of HMRC need these)

Possible ways, that might work.
A) If only using IMAP addresses, it might be better to remove T'Bird and
its profiles (after taking a backup) and start afresh on that machine.

B) If same email addresses on all machines, then you could try copying
.thunderbird from a useable unit (Laptop 1) and using it to overwrite
a new installation of T'bird .thunderbird on desktop 3.

You may have to i) enable multiple profiles on desktop 3 when
reinstalling T'Bird, before adding .thunderbird OR copy working profile
from known good machine to bad one and renaming it as the default
profile (having removed or renamed default to "default.old" before hand
so no clash of profile names.

In all cases write down what you do step by step and have backups.
So you can reverse things.

I keep a copy of older .thunderbird on a USB key as my 'reserve' to
re-instate.
