Interesting, I use IPVanish, and Tor, and both often trigger various captchas.

I don't find the issue is big websites, although the captchas are usually from
CDNs. Looks like one CDN has culled almost of all of IPVanish's address space.

Tor is different - the (standard) endpoints are all well-known and invariably on the grey if not black list for pretty much everything on the internet. Captchas are the least of problems on Tor, nothing works normally!

I have multiple VPN providers available but prefer and recommend Mullvad (no affiliation, obviously). For whatever reason their endpoints seem to be less disliked by CDNs which is a bonus - even iplayer works through most of their UK endpoints. Mostly ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Note my policy for dealing with browser security is probably the opposite of what people might expect: I pretty much accept all standard crappy cookies and web snooping by default and let hostile webservers attempt to do what they want, within reason. The difference is presenting every webserver with a fresh blank container which is then immediately destroyed as soon as I exit the tab. Tabs can't communicate with each other in any way (unless I specify otherwise). Ublock rules for cutting specific bits of code that you want to get rid of for whatever reason are immensely powerful and the most important part of the puzzle for fine tuning.

I *really* resent the various players that have made the internet such a horrid mess of hostile crap.
