I have also noticed that in Protonmail viewing a compose message window
as 'normal' I can read what I am typing,  if i switch to 'plain text'
the page renders with the text colour and background being the same,
meaning unless I highlight the text I can't see it.

Ok granted I can 'just' switch from the compose message window but this
isn't really the point.  If anyone else is using Protonmail and has a
similar issue please file a bug report as it may help the developers
track down the issue, and confirm what I have already reported.

I don't have this with other installs, so perhaps it is down to some
sort of corruption, just irritating.

This isn't just limited to Protonmail as forms on other sites have
similar issues.
