Honestly it's hard to see how you could possibly be going wrong... It
really is just clicking on a couple of obvious buttons in a GUI.

Details? There are also a million billion HyperV guides out there
ranging from guru to complete beginner.

Not meaning to be dismissive but a bit unsure as to what kind of help
you could expect from here that wouldn't be better served by 10 seconds
on Google. Especially as the host is HyperV which is explicitly Windows
tech - most people on the list aren't going to touch this.

What are you even trying to accomplish? If all you want is a basic
terminal (you have native cmd and powershell), vim+latex (plenty of
native windows packages) and spreadsheets (Office, Libreoffice, etc)
then all of those things exist already. Why Debian VMs on HyperV if you
don't understand it? Cygwin can do all of that. As can docker. or
Windows subsystem for Linux. Or an actual Debian system.

Nonetheless, presuming that for 'reasons' this is specifically what you
want/need to do, fair enough - I like a bit of Windows nonsense every
now and then so explain yourself my good man and we can at least try and
point you in the right direction (I know HyperV pretty well).

Cheers
