Actually, I guess if I count it, I've been managing email for others since about 1991 when the company I worked for got our first 64K internet line - direct from Bristol to their US office (and from there a 56K line to what was the Internet back then) We had a 9600 baud PSS link before that and someone else setup the email.
I still have a copy of The Bat Book[1], although I hope I never have to open it again. I still use sendmail, but it's relatively sane these days.
I registered drogon.net in '95 and started doing my own then. 23 years of having the same email address.
