Hi Guys

Well after all that I have learnt a lot. The number one thing I learnt
is check your cables first!

New cable and all is sorted!

Thanks for all the help on this one though. It was a journey of discovery.

Hi All

Thanks for the replies. I think I have finally worked it out.

1. Install windows - hdmi doesn't work
2. Try Raspberry Pi on hdmi monitor - it doesn't work
3. Try using VGA it works
4. Try using both possible hdmi ports - doesn't work
5. Assume cable

Off to buy a cable - I'll let you know.
Make sure your monitor actually supports auto-switching between sources
as well - it might well have one of those fussy OSDs with tiny buttons
that you have to use to control the input source.

Cheers
There's normally a way to turn OFF the auto-switching .. drives me nuts
when the bloody thing *thinks* it knows best .. bloody Micro$oft
syndrome all over again... no *I'm* the user .. ffs ... *growl*
