I have walked my village due to inconsistency when supplier (a virtual operator moved his carrier and lost all in house communication. I.e. my street ok per all maps, but only two (BT , Vodafone) out of 4 mobile systems can work in street. (Masts are about 1Km and 1.5km from house. EE does not work inside or outside house. However does work about 0.5 Km away. Reverse true at work. EE Ok, BT and Vodafone, no reception on work or outside work. So I carry two phones. (And forget half-isle of Harris, signals from one carrier only in main town! In Scottish highlands only about 1/3rd of main roads have coverage and minor roads very rarely. You still need the landline AA and BT red boxes (approx every 20 miles, in emergency.) -- regards Eion MacDonald -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/listfaq
