Re: [LUG] website

Ps. I'm not advocation no wordpress, I'm just advocating moving it to a sub domain and having the site in two parts a static core of (template) html with the primary stuff that changes once or twice a year or less and a second tier as dynamic site with controlled logins.

If the second tire is compromised, it can be dealt with without having to take the primary tier offline.

Also the top level static html can be enhanced with ajax if we need data driven content.   Which could be as simple as updating some json text files.

I agree with Wordpress as a choice for reasons already given.

Using github as a collaborative method is not user friendly, let alone newbie friendly. (I'm a programmer and I struggle at times.)

Having purely static html is doomed to failure.

I agree with the content ideas, but we moved to WordPress to make it
easier for users to contribute.

I'm minded reinstate WordPress, apply a little more security to stop
folk setting weak passwords, maybe 2FA and HTTPS (which is long
overdue), and reshape it from there.
