Re: [LUG] Nexus 10 + Cyanogonmod

:(

Yes. Tablets do suck.

Am I correct in thinking no OS you have tried will complete the boot process and you are unable to revert to stock?

What a botheration.

You might try some roms other than cyanogen.

Also find your exact stock firmware. And flash that using fastboot. If you haven't already.
The stock image you use has to match your baseband so get the numbers right.
See developers.google.com/android/nexus/images for factory images.

By the way, he bleats repeatedly, you HAVE to wipe those cache partitions before a ROM update, and you HAVE to wipe data/factory reset before installing an entirely new ROM.
I know you have by now. Just so you know, it is an essential step. Factory reset > wipe caches > install image.

If you really think you have a duffer, give up. If not, there is hope.

All anecdote, but my dad has actually moved away from ipads and prefers android. He's no wiz, but just basic things like full file management, so he can copy pdfs and guitar tutorial videos onto his tablet, and being able to customise his home screen with a weather widget.
That said if you get an Air it will blow the socks of an old nexus 10. And the svelt design: ooooh.

sure, I'm pretty new to this

Ok, I might have been understating this as it happens. Despite following
Michael's advice about wiping cache (I've even just done a full factory
wipe) I now have a Nexus 10 pretty much randomly alternating between a
hung Cyanogenmod boot screen and the Ubuntu installer, depending on
which combination of fastboot/recovery/hard reset I use. I'm pretty sure
that this isn't normal.

I'm now pissed off to the point where I'm taking my own advice (from a
discussion with Neil on this list regarding buying important family
members gadgets), and will buy my parents an Apple iPad Air tomorrow.
This miserable Nexus will join my pile of stupid crap that I can't be
bothered properly experimenting with. Life is too short. It''ll get a
stock Android reflash tomorrow from a windows box tomorrow and then I
won't use it at all because I hate Google's aggressive walled garden.

Tablets suck, who knew?
