From memory, IDK whether my v1 could check for updates, or let me do it
whilst logged in to it. I always ended up looking at NetGear's site. I
hated upgrading anyway; I was always concerned about bricking it. If
only because Sod's Law dictated that the power would fail whilst
performing the upgrade. Thankfully, it never did. I know a decent UPS
would alleviate that sort of issue, but I never seem to have enough round
tuits to get one. There's always something more important to pay
for. :-(
