Why a live cd? a minimal debian with xfce only requires 256mb of ram for me to do my online banking in vm on screen 2 while blowing people up in battlefield 3 on screen 1. ;-)

true but using qemu Âyou can boot a live cd anyway. Âinside your normal
machine. ÂI am guessing you can do the same from other vm software.
