Has anyone experienced an unstable mouse driver
in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS ?

Two things spring to mind;

1. The mouse is knackered or if optical, has hairs and crud interfering with the laser. (Doesn't account for the clicking) Try another mouse.

2. Turn off remote access/vino/vnc just in case somebody's playing silly buggers.
