My wife has a windows tablet (Asus) that normally charges from the mains. The transformer plugs into a power socket on the Asus http://www.asus.com/Eee/Eee_Pad/Eee_Slate_EP121/ Does anyone know if I could charge it up through a USB port? Instead of the power socket. (The basic idea is to allow her to charge it up between meetings in the car)
From the specs:
Power Adapter: Output: 19.5V 60W with USB charging portSo it looks like it has a dedicated power unit and the tablet takes 19.5V to charge it! (My interpretation of reading that is that the power adapter has a 2nd 5V take-off USB port to let you charge phones, etc. at the same time)
So I'd suggest it's not possibleto charge from a USB port... Maybe you need one of these: http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/TLINV150ST.html Gordon -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/listfaq
