Re: [LUG] 20thC FLOSS accountancy

I keep my accountancy data on a linux version of GnuCash. It works on all my linux machines but my accountants windows version of GnuCash cannot read my files!!!!
Converting to qif seems to loose data and things get muddled.

I have not worked my company accounts with GnuCash as i have no knowledge how to set up to handle UK VAT.
For private matters (no VAT) GnuCash suffices, but there I do not interchange anything with accountants.

What if you send him all data as aspreadsheet? OR
Ask him to boot a live linux, you can provide CD / USB key with GnuCash, as long as he can open GnuCash he can then read your files.
Indeed,  you could save aLive Linux with the extra file of your company GnuCash file included

Question:
If you have a Account List (Chart of Accounts ) for GnuCash that handles VAT correctly I would love a copy** soI can try and set up a Linux system for my company records. The only reason to use MS Windows is my accounts package is windows based.
** I have never made  or understood the  UK Chart of accounts in GnuCash help
