I'm not for two reasons:
- The share price would change if it were known: and someone would
probably be arrested or fired.
- If everyone knew about such acquisitions then the chance of bad
acquisitions would probably be reduced. The general rule is that large
mergers for synergy, aren't. (A classic case was the TimeWarner merger
with AOL)
This one looks different, as pointed out elsewhere, google are buying
patents; and presumably buying the company is cheaper than just buying the
patents
