I do indeed have a DropBox account.  My use of non-Google Docs tools is
increasingly *only* in situations where I find I can't achieve what I
want/need to using Google Docs.

I quite like Unison.  I haven't used it for quite some time, but then I
haven't needed to sync between local machines (of my own) in a while.
