I donated some pcmia wifi cards from linux emporium which I was never going to use now, so they are live to the network, and put supertux on them as well as tuxpaint and err the turtle programming programme. I found the best performance did in fact come from Puppy as I tried out a few on different laptops. What else does a 3 year old need??
Sounds about right, my youngest who is 4 absolutely loves Tuxpaint, I was really impressed to see she can work her way around the application with no help whatsoever. :-)
I might have 3 pcmcia wifi cards in a box in the loft I've been meaning to find so if anyone is in need of wireless enabling an old laptop get in touch with me in a week or two.
Will do, these two Tosh laptops I'm working on have no ethernet (well they do but they have a separate port expander which I don't have), so I've had to pop in a Xircom PCMCIA ethernet card so I can set them up.
