I have no choice in the laptops. They are the only choice from the Home

Ahh I've just done a bit more searching, it is what I thought it was although looks like the rules have changed somewhat.

When they were originally tendering for suppliers I asked for some information as I was considering registering as a supplier. There was no specific machine requirement, the actual requirements were a basic specification list which IIRC didn't specify individual components, just a minimum memory size and I believe a minimum CPU speed. It also specified things like minimum screen resolution, ethernet connectivity etc.

I see though now they seem to have a small range of machines (I smell a back hander to be honest) and mobile broadband from T-Mobile (yeah like that's going to be of any use if you can't get any reception).

Having a look through the list, Comet have an image of an Acer laptop, you could do worse than contacting Comet to see what they can supply.

Personally though, I can't help but think it's a big waste of money, these machines are crap specifications, run Windows and will be bogged down with junkware and run like a dog.

If it was me though and I was forced to choose, I'd go for the Samsung (but also get hold of a clean copy of Windows 7 without the junkware and install it from scratch).
