Heh, I'm pretty sure that when I told them we didn't have a TV, they said I didn't need a license. Not sure if I've ever watched live (UK) TV through the internet though. (I know someone who owns a TV but only watches foreign channels, streamed through his ADSL line, on it. He asked and they told him he doesn't need a license.) Not that I don't think it'd be fair if I had to pay for a license. After all, I do browse the BBC website regularly and download their podcasts, which I presume are at least partly paid for by license money. But I'll leave that for the government to realise. I think the fact that you get a cheaper rate if you only have a black and white TV shows that the system is pretty outdated.
