Some may simply not care about changing it, many just don't even

That rather off colour puce/purple or whatever it is in 10.04 does look
a bit awful imo. Sure *we* will all change it... but without showing a
user how, many will just put up with it.

I do like the wallpaper though, perhaps just in a different hue would be
more my cup of tea.

One feature of Windows Vista / 7 which I do like is the option to select your background (and matching colour scheme) when you set it up. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to put something like this in Ubuntu, such as a first time login wizard.

I'm going to download the Alpha next week I think when I have a bit of time and have a play with it.
