No the oric was a machine that launched with a better keyboard than the 48k spectrum, it had hard plastic keys, and a better sound chip. You could type Zap,Ping,Bang for sound effects. It really was most popular in France. Again Forth was available as a tape option. Forth never really took off I think because of RPN despite a big push when the Jupiter Ace came out. It was then that most versions for the home scene started appearing. I preferred assembler on the speccy and dabbled a bit with it on the BBC being heavily into the demo scene and hacking prestel.
