Seconded - I did 3.1 - 95 - 98 - 2K - XP. Also I never keep the My
Documents folder on the same partition as Windows, so when Windows
crashes I can reinstall without the worry of losing documents.

Best not to need it in the first place ;)

Too much like hard work for them. Remember the official Microsoft view
is that everyone should be using the wonderful Vista *choke* so why
would they need an upgrade path from XP? Yes I know it's rubbish, I
didn't say I agreed with it ;) I installed the beta of Windows 7 on a
1.3 Athlon system with 512Mb RAM and it actually ran at a pretty decent
speed, especially considering that's half the recommended RAM. The
installer is misleading though, you either get Upgrade (from Vista only)
or Custom. Custom is actually the Fresh Install option.

Or go on Ebay and buy an OEM version much cheaper - that would be my
choice :)

From my experience with the Beta, if the finished product runs as
nicely that could well be a realistic option.

Kind regards,

Julian
