Kompozer on 8.10, maybe on anything, is very very unstable and crashes
constantly. Crashing when trying to open a recent document is a common
problem.

The work around is to download seamonkey and use composer, which has
much of the same functionality. There is a way of opening seamonkey in
composer mode by changing the properties in /system/preferences/main
menu to "seamonkey --webeditor" or similar (it isn't that I can't
remember what it should be).
