Saying football team are rubbish is simply a statement,  as is liverpool 
are better than man united in europe,

saying liverpool are better than man united in europe because liverpool 
have won 5 european cups, compared to man united winning two,  is a 
statement supported by evidence of facts.

I agree however you would not say that in front of thousands of fans.
