cat test.txt | tr -d '\n' |  grep -o
"[[:alnum:][:graph:]]*@[[:alnum:][:graph:]]*"

Of course this assumes that "\n" isn't ever used to separate email
addresses, and the match for email addresses is rather broader than the
original poster mentioned, but otherwise Ben will complain that "'" is a
valid character for his email address.
