Many thanks to all who have offered advice.
I have dowloaded that distro but I am introducing myself to ubuntu 7.04 at present (on my laptop).   Pretty cool and even got my HP All-in-One printer working!

my suggestion would be to download a copy of pclinuxos. brilliant device drivers and a live disc if you don't want to install
