It's also possible that the local DNS provided by the router (if it is 
providing it) is duff. Some shoddy implementations of DNS servers/relays will 
work with Windows but not properly with Linux, as they don't implement the 
DNS spec properly.

If you are using your router for DNS, try using your ISP's servers and see if 
it helps.
