I no little about ubuntu repositories, but guess the universe multiverse 
one I mention is diffferent from the "backport universe multiverse" 
provided by the install (if you uncomment it). The default one is 
missing vital stuff like xine-extracodecs which is part of kaffeine and 
without which the dvb functions have no sound, (it was left out). You 
could try the repository string I mentioned, which was accurate, 
replacing us with gb.

I have downloaded sun stuff via the gui and had the eula appear, but 
this is probably not always the case, and even when it is it tends to be 
hidden behind stuff and you need to be observant and minimize everything 
else.

I'll give the command line a go.
