I have been altering the kernel, I.E. removing stuff that we don't  
need, that would not cause a problem would it?
I see cryptic references to 'kernel ABI' whatever that is.

Maybe I should also ask this in a different manner...
I have module I have the details of distro/kernels that it will work  
with, how do I get it to work, given that that you can no longer  
download the distro in question the same kernel, I.E. the kernel  
available are newer than the module supports.

What I ahve tried do to, is get the distro in question and downgrade  
the kernel.

Other ideas?

Oh, and the vendor does not want to help, they don't seem to realise  
the problems, we are having, the pci card is EOL and they say they are  
supporting it.

difficult situation all round really.
