diff supports XML perfectly well, though it's not ideal; since diff
line-oriented, but newlines are meaningless in XML, you may end
up with a diff that replaces the entire file, simply because the file
has no linebreaks.
 
Or indeed because it is a zip file.
FFS just use the built-in revision management system, in the File menu.
