Try downloading and installing this one, http://rpms.mandrivaclub.com/rpms/mandriva/devel//cooker/i586/media/main/gphoto2-2.1.99-3mdk.i586.html It's always better to use binaries built for your distribution if you can. Try uninstalling the version you built if you can and then as root "rpm -Uvh libgphoto2.... ", (apologies if I'm teaching you to suck eggs here). Can't guarantee this'll solve it, but it stands a better chance than the other. Also as root "rpm -qa | grep libgphoto" should tell you what you actually have installed, or at least what mandriva thinks is installed!
