On the other hand when I worked for NTL we were trialling our (then
new) cable service in Guildford.  A lot of expensive houses round
there and the engineers spent a fair bit of time lifting up driveways
etc and putting them back exactly as found.  Also when I had mine put
in they had to lift a line of paviered blocks along our drive, then
put them back as found, so they *can* do it if pressed.
