Hi Robin,Thanks for help - i've set the apache log level to "debug" (so it will log everything), and I get the following: [Mon Mar 20 11:23:33 2006] [notice] suEXEC mechanism enabled (wrapper: /usr/sbin/suexec)[Mon Mar 20 11:23:33 2006] [info] Init: Initializing OpenSSL library [Mon Mar 20 11:23:33 2006] [info] Init: Seeding PRNG with 256 bytes of entropy [Mon Mar 20 11:23:33 2006] [info] Init: Generating temporary RSA private keys (512/1024 bits) [Mon Mar 20 11:23:33 2006] [info] Init: Generating temporary DH parameters (512/1024 bits) [Mon Mar 20 11:23:33 2006] [info] Init: Initializing (virtual) servers for SSL [Mon Mar 20 11:23:33 2006] [info] Server: Apache/2.0.52, Interface: mod_ssl/2.0.52, Library: OpenSSL/0.9.7a [Mon Mar 20 11:23:34 2006] [notice] Digest: generating secret for digest authentication ... Nothing nasty there, Anything in /var/log/syslog or /var/log/messages?oh by the way on apache 2 the daemon is called apache2 (on debian anyway) not httpd. so "ps -e" will show apache processes not httpd processes.
