It seems cancelling payments taken from a credit card is more difficult.
I used AOL about 8 or 9 years ago and found it impossible to cancel the CC
debit. I succeeded in the end..... closed the credit card account and got
one with a different bank :-)

Then run, don't walk, to your bank and make them stop the payments.

Seriously - you should already have got your bank to sort this out. I
do this pretty much every time I stop a payment, I go to the bank and
require them to cancel it in front of me -- never any problem.

The direct debit garuntee isn't worth the paper it's printed on

It's usually on CC as opposed to DD.. personally i refuse to give out CC
info these days for recurring charges... DD's are much better, and I
prefer SO's even more...
