xauth is not a package in itself, it is part of the xbase-clients package.  Use 
"apt-cache search ______" (where _____ is your search term) to find packages in your 
available repository.

I have but a simple question about this: if you are connecting through a router 
using Ethernet, why are you trying to get use pppoe stuff from the client machine?
