I've found that KMail doesn't like that when using IMAP. Just a caution, that's all. I leave the machines running, just logout when I'm not at the keyboard.
It seems to be defaulting to 600 seconds regardless of what i put in the config box so i'm guessing thats not what the config box is there for :)
