# modprobe emu10k1

(no output, no error)

# lsmod

sbp2 15024 0 (unused)

Seems mine has a '-gp' stuck on the end?

GamePort

No. Here is what I found:
/lib/modules/2.4.27-1-386# ls
initrd
modules.dep
modules.ieee1394map
modules.parportmap
modules.pnpbiosmap
kernel
modules.generic_string
modules.isapnpmap
modules.pcimap
modules.usbmap

You'll need to hunt a little further.
The directory you've listed is: /lib/modules/2.4.26-1-386
Try looking in the kernel directory, etc, etc... mine is in:
/lib/modules/2.6.10-1-k7/kernel/sound/pci/emu10k1/

Okay, found sound directory in kernal/drivers/

This is what I tried:

chaoshex5:/lib/modules/2.4.27-1-386/kernel/drivers/sound# ls

chaoshex5:/lib/modules/2.4.27-1-386/kernel/drivers/sound# modprobe emu10k1

init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including
invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.27-1-386/kernel/drivers/sound/emu10k1/emu10k1.o:

/lib/modules/2.4.27-1-386/kernel/drivers/sound/emu10k1/emu10k1.o: insmod
emu10k1 failed

Okay, just wondering if anyone is going to suggest what
I should be doing next. Still have no sound. The above
is the last thing I tried...
