Re: [LUG] Some discrepancies in the (G)LUG...

Quoting Grant Sewell <dclug@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>:

Hi all.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but there seems to be some
considerable variance in the time it takes for messages to appear on the
(G)LUG.

For example, I wrote a reply just now (Fri, 10 Dec 2004 14:29:35) in the
Farseer enterprises thread. It appeared on the (G)LUG within 1 minute
(that's the update interval I have set for my mail notifier). However, I
wrote a reply to my own thread - Testing Surround Sound - a good few hours
ago (09:56:19) and as of now (14:35:xx) it hasn't actually arrived on the
list yet.

This is not a necessarily a problem, I just thought it a little unusual.

Any thoughts?

Grant.

I've noticed that some replies have come thorough before the original message,
for instance, the Farseer Enterprises Continued message came through after 2
or 3 replies.

I just put it down to my mail server playing up and not downloading mail in
any logical order (it downloads form about 5 POP/IMAP accounts).
