I've just downloaded all the versions of said poster. My opinions (in respect to using this within a meeting targeting the Education sector): + Nice, clean lines and simple artwork. + Decided lack of bombardment with technical issues. + Outlines the major points of the software (text processor...no licensing costs). - Heading is perhaps not important to this group (proprietary file formats). I am not sure that the people making decisions about softwares in Schools/Colleges/etc are likely to be as au-fait with the pitfalls of file format lock-ins as perhaps *some* IT teachers. I understand that getting in on the "grass roots" level (ie the teachers) is often important, but I get the feeling that if these posters are to be used as "recruitment aides" (not necessarily recruiting to the (G)LUG, but recruiting "to the light side, Luke"), perhaps for those that will be attending the meeting to take with them, then a few changes could make all the difference. Perhaps highlighting the ability to actually *give* the software to their student's (or to the student's parents/guardians) would attract some attention? No longer would IT classes have a "recommended software" area, but it could actually give out CDs upon enrolment? On a more, erm, overall view... personally, I prefer the negative image since I think that blue letters on a white background stand out much better than white letters on a blue background - and blue on blue for the logo? Also reduces the risk of ink bleeding. Just a thought.
