Hi All, Mandrake 10.0 with XSANE-0.92-1mdk. It loads correctly, identifies my scanner correctly, Epson GT-7000 USB and that's all it does. If I click Preview nothing happens at all. Eventually after clicking the close (x) a few times the crash handler comes up saying XSAME is not responding.
Have you tried scanning from the CLI? Try "scanimage --verbose > image.pnm" and see if that throws any wobblies.
The scanner works fine in Windows so I discounted hardware problems (besides it recognised the right model).
Not always a guarantee. I have a USB modem (Diamond Max 56K USB, or something) that is 'recognised'. Unfortunately, there are two versions of this modem, both of which identify themselves through the USB system identically, but they have very different 'controllers'. Have you checked that your particular scanner doesn't fall into this category as well? -- Artificial intelligence is no match for nuratal stidutipy. -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
