RE: [LUG]: USB Print Server in Linux

Hi Simon,

Thanks for the reply :) After sending I Googled and found out the same as
you. So I downloaded their free version and it works a treat! :) £16 for
the registered version, and to be honest I'm inclined to register it. They
done a lot of work and taken a lot of hassle away for me :)) I've printed a
test page and a page from The Gimp so far and it's looking great :)

The only reservation I have now is that I want to change the printer for an
Epson Photo Stylus R200 and according to linuxprinting.org it does work with
Linux *except for PJL". Do you know what PJL is and if it's vitally
important for it to work in Linux?

Kind regards,

Julian

xtpsetup is a Turboprint utility. So definitely have to ask the vendor
(assuming you checked the CDs which came with it).

| usually the built-in print server accepts several standard protocols (lpd,

|
| It should work with the following settings in xtpsetup:
|
| connection = remote printer
| server = ip address of printer server
| printer = lp0

This just looks like settings for a standard lpd printer - try whatever
print tool you have, and just say "lpd" or "remote lpd" (Sometimes also
classified Berkeley or SysV - if in doubt try Berkeley first).
