I think you might have to re-assess your condition : PCWorld have heard of 
Linux, they even sell shrink-wrapped distributions and books on Linux. 
Doesn't mean they have the slightest clue about what it does.

I can't speak for anyone else but I've been snowed under recently and haven't 
had time to do anything with this or two other threads. Sorry. I won't be 
able to do much on ePatents, rosegarden or the broken laptop etc. until 
mid-June.
