I'm pretty certain the promotion thing was flawed in some versions - as
I got Elite in the BBC version very quickly - but previously hadn't on
the Spectrum despite killing all and sundry everywhere including some
weird aliens who you could get to intercept your hyperjumps more often
with a little know-how if you needed more vicious enemies to shoot.
