Re: [LUG] gnoppix/debian modem probs

I re-ran pppconfig and created a new isp.
than I did
pon ispname
the modem dials the number but as soon as it's finished dialing it hangs up. There does not appear to be any negotiation at all with the isp?

I don't know how much it will tell you but here is the output from plog. The commas in the phone number are for a delay. We have a cheap phone calls dialler which needs this delay.

pppd 2.4.1 started by root uid 0
abort on (BUSY)
abort on (NO CARRIER)
abort on (VOICE)
abort on (NO DIALTONE)
abort on (NO DIAL TONE)
abort on (NO ANSWER)
abort on (DELYAED)
send (ATZ^M)
expect (OK)
ATZ^M^M
OK
       -- got it
send (ATDT,,,,08456042086^M)
expect (CONNECT)
^M
ATDT,,,,08456042086^M^M
BUSY
      -- failed
Failed (BUSY)
Connect script failed
Exit

Any ideas?

Thanks
Roland

Do not use wvdial.

There should be a "pppconfig" dialup configuration program in debian.

Then you pon and poff your connection.
