I use Xmms for mp3 stuff

Xine for mp3,wma,avi's,asf,rm,mov,divx,vcd,dvd etc etc

Transcode for ripping dvds (decss etc)
Grip/lame for mp3's

Kb3 for burning.

all media requirements met!
see....

ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/8.2-i386/RPMS.packman-i686

has required rpm's / codecs the files were built for suse but there is also a
source rpm folder at the above address so you could optimise said files for
your particular machine.

cheers,

Lee
