I agree completely. Seeing as even the yoof of today probably won't be into reconfiguring their systems and installing software in year 2 (probably), the fact the the "Start" button has turned into a "K" (or foot, or whatever) isn't going to phase them for long. What might do is when you tell them they can't install a game they wanted or something... but hopefully they will just browse around, "playing" (learning) what is there. In which cas, Linux is far superior in that they will have loads of programs (including games of the not-too-gorey type) pre-installed to occupy them. It also has the advantage that as they get older, they can continue to learn about all the other bits of their system that are there under the undeniably glossy exterior. Personally I got bored of Windows by the time I was at the start of secondary school, there was nothing to explore :-( So yeah, that argument is rubbish. In fact, I'm almost annoyed by the way that after looking at my Linux laptop for a few seconds people will invariably say "well it's just like windows really, isn't it?"!
